HRH The Duke of Edinburgh: 10 June 1921 - 9 April 2021
All at The Falkland Islands Association wish to express sincere condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the rest of the Royal family on the passing of His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Following the sad death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, you may be interested to read the attached account of the Duke's visit to the Falklands in 1957. It was the Prize Winning (Community School) entry in the Jane and Alastair Cameron History Prize Competition in 2019 and was written by Benjamin Jaffray aged 14. It is published in the current (2020) issue of the Falkland Islands Journal (pages 218-229). Could I also direct you to the excellent account of his visit(s) in the Dictionary of Falklands Biography account written by HRH's archivist - with some excellent local images added.
